The Town of Harvard will receive bids until 11:00 A.M., E.D.T., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 for replacing a roof and associated work at the Highway Garage for the Town of Harvard. Sealed bids shall be mailed or delivered to the Town of Harvard, Office of the Board of Selectmen, Town Hall, 13 Ayer Road, Harvard, Massachusetts 01451, with the designation, "Highway Garage Roof Replacement” on the envelope. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the place and time designated above.
Notice to Bidders, Information and Instructions, Contract, Specifications and Bid forms may be obtained Monday through Thursday 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Office of the Selectmen, 13 Ayer Road, Harvard, MA, 01451, (978) 456-4100, beginning Wednesday, March 23, 2011. No deposit is required for these documents; however they must be picked up. They will not be mailed or sent by any other carrier.
Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of M.G.L c. 30, s. 39M, as amended and shall be made on the basis of Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27G, inclusive, of Massachusetts General Laws as amended, a copy of which will be supplied to each bidder as is available in the Office of The Department of Public Works.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the value of the bid, as required by General Laws, Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. The bid deposit may be in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer’s or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of Harvard.
Payment bond in the amount of 50% the contract price will be required from the successful bidder.
The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids.
The Town of Harvard reserves the right to negotiate the terms of final contract and to reject any and all bids if it be in the public interest to do so.
