Eligibility for Residential Solid Waste Disposal Permits
  • Valid automobile registration must be provided to Town Hall for each vehicle for which a permit is requested.  A current permit is required to enter the Transfer Station Facility.
  • Residents of Harvard may request up to two permits per household for one fee (see fee schedule) & $25.00 for third permit  (No more than three permits will be issued per household)
  • Renters must show proof of residency, utility bill or rental/lease agreement that includes the name of the registrant that matches the vehicle registration.
  • Second home property owners (Harvard is not principle residence) – must provide a tax bill or utility bill that includes the name of the registrant that matches the vehicle registration.
  • Seniors (65 years old on or before June 30, 2009) - $25.00 for up to two permits (a third permit is available for $25).  The address for all vehicle registrations receiving this discount must be the same as the senior whose principle residence is in Harvard for each permit issued.
  • Non-residents may apply for one full price permit only if they are an immediate relative of a senior citizen whose principle residence is in Harvard.

Recycling Only Disposal Permits
  • “Recycle Only” permits will issued at No Charge for residents and $25 for non-residents

Discounted Permits – Eligibility
  • Transfer Station Recycling Volunteers are eligible for a discounted permit upon the completion of the following volunteer hours: 6-7 shifts=50% discount, 8-11 shifts=75% discount, 12 or more shifts=100% discount.  Annual totals of volunteer hours will be provided to Town Hall by the chairman of the Transfer Station Committee on or by April 1 of each year.
  • Harvard Ambulance squad members are eligible for a discounted permit for $25 if they have served on the active duty roster for the previous year.  The Ambulance Director will provide list members who are eligible to receive discounted permits to Town Hall by April 1 of each year.

Permit Restrictions
  • No “Commercial” solid waste or construction debris will be accepted.  No vehicles larger than a pickup truck or equivalent size shall be allowed to access the Transfer Station facility.  
  • Permits must be affixed to the vehicle’s driver side front bumper and are not transferable
Any person caught dumping household solid waste with a “Recycle Only” permit will have their transfer station permit revoked.


HOURS OF TRANSFER STATION OPERATION:
Wednesdays: 7:30am – 11:30am and Saturdays: 8:00am – 2:00pm
