Stormwater Management Project

What is the Storm Water Treatment Project?

Storm water from the ground around the town common, the schools, and the library currently runs untreated into the pond during heavy rainfalls. The Bare Hill Pond Watershed Management Committee has received state and federal funding to treat storm water runoff into the pond.

Over the next two years, we will work with the DPW and an outside contract construction company to manage the construction or upgrade of natural bioremediation facilities. These passive low-impact facilities are designed to remove phosphorous and other pollutants before they enter the pond. For more information, check the FAQs and other documents below to learn about the project, funding, and goals.
