Preservation & Restoration Information for Homeowners

The following information has been assembled to aid homeowners in Harvard's two historic districts.  An important part of the mission of the Historical Commission is to preserve the integrity of the unique features of the historic structures within this rural landscape, and to ensure that they retain their individual characteristics and as much of the original fabric as possible.  Where materials have deteriorated, the preference is to repair rather than replace them (which is also more sustainable), and when necessary, replace features as closely as possible as they were originally built.  We hope that the attached material is helpful and welcome your feedback
