New and Amended Board of Health Bylaws

On November 19, 2019, after a public hearing which opened on October 22, 2019, the Harvard Board of Health voted to include a new Article in the Board of Health Bylaw Rules, Chapter 145 of the Code of the Town of Harvard.  The Article is entitled Regulation to Ensure the Sanitary and Safe Operation of Marijuana Establishments and the Sale of Adult-Use Marijuana and Cannabidiol.  With its adoption of this new Article, the Board of Health intends with this measure to protect, promote and preserve the health and well-being of all Harvard’s residents in accordance with its mandate, and recognizes the prevention of the illegal sale and use of marijuana, particularly involving youth, as a public health priority.  The new Article went into effect immediately upon passage.   Click here to read the new Article.  

On December 10, 2019, at a public meeting, the Harvard Board of Health voted to amend Article VI, entitled Fees, in Chapter 145 of the Code of Harvard.  The amendments are to include Board of Health fees associated with the application for tobacco product sales permits and marijuana operating permits.  The regulation establishes the fee for each permit, renewed annually, is $75.00.  Click here to read the amended Article.
